I'm one of those stupid, absent-minded people who can't even boil a pot of eggs.

What happened? I set five eggs to be boiled at medium high heat and just plumb forgot about it. So the water boiled out, and the eggs exploded. I was asking, "What was that sound? What is that smell?" Before long, I shouted, "Shit! Shit! Shit!"

So the eggs are ruined, some of them splattered around and on the wall, burned out. And I, demurred, now vow that I will never try to multi-task, ever again. I almost wanted to promise that I would never boil a single egg, but that's impractical, especially with 60 years of life to go.

So I will leave no kettle, pot, pans, or stove unwatched so long as I am cooking something there. I could have burned something down, dammit, if this was a gas stove.

Where's the damn "automatic off" designed for people who might forget to attend to their tasks?
