Makes me think about Sorenson's reluctance to connect to other relay services, and he (Davey) points to Grant's musing on the future of Sorenson, including that it may someday be forced to open itself up to other competitors. It may have been the first, but that doesn't mean it won't be left in the dust by disenchanted Deaf users.

I've tried to use it, and I'm tired of waiting for ten minutes for a simple call that may last only two. I mean, I may call for appointment, for asking questions about "stuff," but ten minutes for a two minute question-and-answer session?

Ten minutes for two minutes? Maybe even ten minutes for a call to someone who will tell me to call back later. Ten minutes for a call to someone who is already on a call.

Ten long minutes that I could use for a walk, instead sitting in front of a computer staring at a mirror image of myself until the interpreter comes on.

Ten minutes. A lot can happen in that time. I can write an entire post in ten minutes. I can read a lot in ten minutes. 600 seconds of pure and miserable waiting.
